What Went Before
Every story has its prequel. The Jazz Age was preceded by the Edwardian
Age (something of a misnomer, since for most middle-class Americans its
effects were mainly felt after the death of King Edward VII in 1910),
which itself was an outcome of and reaction against the Victorian Age
of the 19th century.
